ACM Awards: Miranda Lambert
During her ACM Awards performance, Miranda Lambert shined in a classy hot pink strapless dressed. My favorite aspect of the dress was the pop of glitter that trimmed the top of the dress. To match, she wore silver glitter heels and earrings. Her hair was styled with loose wavy curls that feel to the tip of her shoulders. In order to complete her girly look, she played a pink guitar and sang into a pink microphone.
ACM Awards: Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift went very country for her performance of her new single titled "Mean." The backdrop for her performance was a city house, and even her band was dressed in what looked like "peasant" clothers. She traded in her usual sparkling guitar for a bango. She wore a loose flowing nude dress with heels. But as always, she kept her signiture curls, but for this performance styled them in a side braid.
ACM Awards: Rihanna
Rihanna is so unpredictable! Her hair is always changing! And at the ACM Awards, there were no exceptions. She rocked a short, fire engine red layered bob. Along with this pop of color, she wore a short fitted sleeveless white dress. White fringe hung from the top of her dress and twirled as she danced. She wore black paten leather heels to finish off her classic look.
ACM Awards: Carrie Underwood
For her amazing duet performance with rocker Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood transformed out of her soft and stunning purple gown into an edgy, rocker chic outfit. She wore a short black frill skirt paired with a sparkling gray corset top. She also wore a cropped black leather jacket that fit her perfectly. She danced along Tyler in edgy black high heeled cowboy boots. She accessorized with black leather biking gloves and a chunky silver necklace. Her hair was highlighted with hot pink streaks. Her look was perfect for the performace. She looked as good as she sounded!

Academy of Country Music Awards 2011
Mother daughter duo Wynonna Judd and Naomi Judd arrived on the red carpet looking like characters from a Disney Broadway show. Wynonna resembled a mermaid-like fairy godmother in her silver mermaid style gown that was not at all flattering to her body shape. Naomi looked like a black leather-loving pirate. The leather pants hugged her legs so very tightly and the fringe edging on the extremely long jacket looked horrible. Really ladies? You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Kids Choice: Orange Carpet, Fashion Crimes, and Green Slime
On Saturday, April 2, famous kids, teens, and adults walked the orange carpet to celebrate the 2011 Kid’s Choice Awards at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. Reality tv stars Kourtney and Kim Karsdashian stepped out with their sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner all looking perfect in pastels. Although Kim’s cleavage was a bit revealed, I thought her short ruffly cream dress was fun and nicely accessorized with a stylish neutral belt. Kendall looked stylish and age appropriate in a pastel purple mini dress also accessorized with a neutral high-waisted belt. My favorite look of the four sisters was Kylie, who wore a pastel pink draped mini dress. The oldest of the sisters, Kourtney, added a pop of color to the girls overall look wearing a light and flowing bright coral maxi dress. Heidi Klum looked gorgeous in a little black dress by Gucci. I loved how the classic silhouette of the dress was paired with spikey embellishments on the neckline, giving her an edgy look. And the best detail of all? The dress had two side pockets!Taylor Momsen, known as Jenny Humphrey on the CW’s Gossip Girl, showed up on the orange carpet resembling a scary vampire. Her cropped black leather jacket was overpowered with numerous buckles. It was just plain ugly. She accessorized with a black chocker and thumb straps, making her look as though she belonged on a motorcycle rather than the orange carpet. Another teen star, Miranda Cosgrove, the lead star of Nick’s show iCarly, got her outfit all wrong. The shiny hot pink short dress was not at all flattering to her body, not to mention nothing was age appropriate about it except for the color. Her black heels with four straps looked like witch shoes to me. And the worst of all was her heavy red lips that totally clashed with her pink dress. These two teens deserved to be slimed!

2011 Academy Awards
However, in my opinion, Cate Blanchett’s lavender gown was a red carpet crime. The sleeves were extremely square shaped and the gown looked as though it had shoulder pads. In addition to the light lavender gown which looked washed out against her lightly toned skin and blonde hair, the back of the gown was a disaster. When I first saw the upper back of the gown I instantly thought to myself, “What are those yellow things? Corn?” Yellow beads were scattered all along the upper back of the gown. They did not sparkle or shine. It literally looked like corn kernels had been glued to the back of her gown. Gross. Nicole Kidman deserved to earn a worst dressed nominee for her white Dior Couture gown. Overall, the gown had too much fabric and the front criss-crossing of two strips of fabric caused her sides to bunch out, giving her what looked like a muffin top. Gwyneth Paltrow’s silver metallic Calvin Klein Collection gown looked more like a space suite than an award show gown. Although it fit her perfectly, it was too shiny. The rectangular plunging neckline was too revealing, and what was that embellishment that was stuck to the side of her waist?

Fashion Police: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Nicki Minaj: “A modern day Cher? A piece of art?” Really Lawrence? Her creation of a creature was anything but “art.” She was head-to-toe covered in leopard print. Justin Beiber mistaken for Ellen DeGeneres? No way. I think he looked young and polished in his white suit and black bow tie. Hayley Williams of Paramore looking like a rock star in a shear black dress with a bright pink feathered bottom? Not at all. What was she thinking? The pink too- too looked like an inner tube, making her look like she belonged in the water rather than on the red carpet.

The Grammy’s. Music’s Biggest Night.
AN EGG. ANGEL. LEOPARD. OUTRAGEOUS? On Sunday, February 13, 2011, Lady Gaga got carried onto the red carpet of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA inside an egg. Yes, you read that correctly, an egg. I am a huge fan of Lady Gaga, aka, a “little monster”, and support her “freakish” style, but I do not feel that her entrance to the Grammy’s was “eggcellent.” A few hours before the Grammy’s Lady Gaga tweeted, “This is Nicola, Haus of Gaga: Gaga is in incubation.” Incubating? Seriously? Inside a rubber egg? And what is this I hear that she was isolated in there for three whole days? Why?! How?!
Katy Perry looked beautiful wearing a white angel-like dress detailed with a glittering bra top and extravegant feather wings. The bra top resembled the million dollar Victoria’s Secret bra, fitting Katy perfectly. The bottom however, wrapped around her body on an angle and I was unsure as to whether or not it was attached to the bra. The wings made the look seem a bit mysterious, but they were appropriate for her already white and angelic look. Although I don’t understand why she was wearing angel wings, I don’t really care. She succeeded at rocking a unique look, while still remaining classy and gorgeous.
SAG Awards: Stunning And Gone Wrong.
The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. On the red carpet, some stars looked stunning while others looked like they had been consumed by a rainbow.
What was 15 year old star Hailee Steinfeld thinking? She looked as though she got into a fight with a box of neon highlighters, and lost. The black, orange, and pink horizontal stripes were anything but flattering; just staring at her gown for a few seconds could make anyone dizzy. Although it was youthful, the bright neon colors made the gown look extremely casual. Sorry Prada, but this dress is appropriate for a Halloween costume, not an award show. January Jones arrived on the red carpet in a black and gold laced short sleeved gown that looked boring and outdated. The belt that sat at her waist cut her body in half, eliminating the illusion of allongating the torso. The gown had so much lace, that basically, she looked like a doily that someone would set their Sunday morning teapot on. Angie Harmon wanted to be unique but failed. The upper half of her pink Monique Lhuillier gown looked like a corset you could find at Victoria’s Secret, while the bottom half looked like she got into a fight with a flammingo. I didn’t know birds were allowed on the red carpet.
Golden Globes Go Both Glamour and Garbage
Angelina Jolie look stunning yet sophisticated in a long sleeved flowing emerald Atelier Versace gown. The emerald green against her golden skin and chocolate brown hair was the perfect combination. Mom-to-be Natalie Portman was “glowing” in a strapless, pink and red draped satin gown by Viktor and Rolf. The gowns drapery flowed perfectly against her growing belly, allowing it to be slightly hidden. However, I did not like the red rose that looked like it was growing out of her chest and then just floating there. It caught my eye in a bad way. Country singer Carrie Underwood was definitely a nominee for my “best dressed” list, owning the red carpet in a sparkling full sequin sweetheart gown. Her neatly done updo, clutch, heels and jewelry completed the look, making her look extremely classy. Olivia Wilde brought the stars to the red carpet, literally. Her sparkling and glittering rich chocolate brown ball gown by Marchesa covered in sequin gave the illusion that she was a galaxy full of stars.
“Whoopsie daisy” Michelle Williams, to say the least. Was this hand made? It looked like she grabbed some khaki fabric, picked some daisies from the garden, and sewed them on before catching her limo. The gown was not flattering at all because it gave her no shape, and the color was so dreary that it just blended in to her skin. Rather than blooming, her flowers were duds.
While some stars looked like “golden globes” themselves, others deserved zero votes. After all, you can’t win them all..
Welcome: Keeping the Carpet Clean
Readers, welcome to my blog! This blog will give you the opportunity to stay up to date on current celebrity red carpet fashions. Due to my love for the fashion industry, I enjoy watching all celebrity red carpet events and award shows which display the most current, most expensive, and most unique and exotic formal wear. In this blog, I will be expressing my thoughts and opinions on numerous celebrity fashions that have walked down multiple red carpets. I will compliment, praise, approve; be jealous and envious; analyze, evaluate, critique, and sometimes just ask, “Why? What was he/she thinking?!” While I can promise that my words will remain clean at all times, I can’t promise the same about the fashions. I mean, you’ve seen Lady Gaga before, right?
